It is the goal of Creative Playrooms Kindergarten to offer a top quality educational program in a safe, caring environment designed specifically for children.  Our express purpose is to prepare each child for the future by meeting his/her current needs.

Because our class size is small, we can better foster social skills such as how to get along with others, sharing, taking turns, cooperation, and being attuned to the needs of others.

Our program offers hands-on creating, reading, and phonics combined with language expression, math concepts, handwriting, art, drama, science projects, and crafts.  We provide the opportunity for the child to develop skills at his/her appropriate level through observation, discussion, organization, and problem solving, as well as number and language skills.  We also foster respect for the proper use of classroom materials.

In order for the children to become better readers, they are read to, they read with the teacher, and are encouraged to read on their own.  The use of Big Books in reading, science, and health is effective.  Chart paper on which poems, songs, and chants are written is used to begin the day so that the children can see large print from a distance.  Also, writing is modeled for them.  They write with the teacher and are allowed to write on their own.  The goal is for them to compose, even if it is just one word in order for them to express their thoughts.  The use of journals for writing is helpful and encouraged.  Other elements such as holding a pencil, forming the letters, and spelling are addressed as well.

The Kindergarten program has each child as its focal point.  Through small class size, we are able to promote self-confidence in an environment that encourages a child’s natural curiosity.  We help each child to think for himself/herself and take responsibility for their actions and themselves.  The atmosphere of the Kindergarten classroom encourages learning, exploring, and growing together.  Come grow with us!
